Fishing

Coarse fishing in the area is of excellent quality including a dedicated coarse angling facility is available at Oaklands Lake near New Ross. Oaklands Lake is a 4 acre custom built lake catering for up to 68 anglers.

Fishing at Oaklands lake is on a 'catch and release' basis and the lake is surrounded by a broad leaf forest and fed by a natural stream sourced from three wells. The lake is stocked with Common Carp, Mirror Carp, Tench and Bream and makes an ideal coarse fishing venue, which is a safer option when the local rivers are in flood. Oaklands Lake is accessible to wheelchairs and the ideal location for a relaxing day's fishing.

River Fishing

Game fishing in the River Slaney is available from the old bridge in Enniscorthy down stream. Predominantly a spring river it holds good stocks of salmon and some sea trout.

Deep Sea Fishing and Shore Angling	Duncannon
The coastline of Co. Wexford is perfect for shore angling where common species such as bass and mullet can be caught from the many beaches that are easily accessible.

Sea angling is an exciting sport for both the beginner and the more experienced angler and there are rich fishing grounds off Co.Wexford. It is internationally recognised that the fishing grounds off Ireland's south-east coastline is one of the most beautiful settings for deep sea fishing in Europe and Conger, Ling, Pollock and Cod are some of the more common species caught. Some of the sea charters in the area include 'Enterprise' at Kilmore Quay, 'Mermaid Angling, Sea Mist' at Arthurstown and 'South East Charters' at Duncannon.

Wreck Fishing, Shark Fishing, Traces, Tackle Hire, Evening Fishing and Evening Cruises can all be found in the area.

Boat fishing competitions see many species of fish caught and hired licensed charter boats can be obtained from Kilmore Quay, Duncannon, Gentstown and Wexford.

There is a wide range of beaches and rocky headlands to enjoy shore angling and the information boards at Kilmore Quay, Rosslare Strand and Wexford can provide details of ideal locations.
